i was watching VH1 and they had like the top 20 and wierd al had that one song white and nerdy then they had asked him if he gets the artist permision before doing any song and he was like yea and hes ben trying to get prince to let him do one of his songs but he keeps refusing. do you think prince should let him do a song? i think it would be interesting. the guy on the tv was like oh it would be called "little dead corvet" so yeah i think it would be interesting to see what he would do to one of his songs.

Al is cool that way. He actually doesn't need permission to do a parody (unless he's taking the same recorded tracks from the original). But he always gets permission first.

yeah but its sad becasue he wants to do one of prince's songs and prince says "NO" poor al.

If you watch the "Partyman" video, you'll see Prince's Gemini character lighting an explosive cigar in the mouth of a Weird Al lookalike.

I read in the Kent State University Starter that Wierd Al is coming up here last weekend. I didn't see it 'cuz i was stuck w/ a marching band commintment. I never saw him perform or any of his songs. It sounds interesing that he really wants to do a song composed by Prince. If the man is repeatingly asking him, go ahead. I see nothing worng w/ someone having a little bit of fun. Just as long as the song is great and doesn't overpass the oringinal.

But I really think that Prince is too hungup on himself to let Weird Al do anything with his music. Let's face it, it does take a little humility and a trumendous sense of humor--something I don't know if Prince has or not.
