of Prince's Early Albums if you Could Add:

Horns,Strings,Orchestra,etc... to it which Album would it be&Why?? Mine would be "1999" because that Album could really be taking into a different light with all those things added.as much as I dig it Hearing Horns on Various Cuts would truly give it a different spin.thoughts::

Purple Rain would be interesting if it was all strings.

Does any1 else own the "Songs Of Prince" cd by the Classic Metropolitan Orchestra or am I the only geek that has it? lol

(It's pretty good, save the British people singing back-up..that sounds kinda dorky...)

My god no!!! Using the synth as the horns was what made the Mn sound and Prince music special. I tripped when I heard Mountains on the radio as a preview and actually hearing horns. Sure Temptation used Eddies sax but still ATWIAD still used the synth as horns etc... I dont want anybody touching 1999! It is an institution.

I Like the MN Sound with the Synth Horns but I Do wonder how different things might have been as well? I also wonder if Prince does Re-Do all of His Songs if He would go all out with the Full Horns,Strings,etc...???

You're not the only geek ... I bought the Music Of Prince CD too in one of my weaker moments ... I think I listened to it once before relegating it to the bottom of my CD drawer

Some wacky arrangement suggestions (don't try this at home) :

Head with the synth parts played on the harmonica...
Something in the water with harpsichord and baroque strings (this one WOULD work... )
Solo sung by Mongolian throat singers!
Take me with U played by a marching band!
The whole Lovesexy album arranged as an opera!!!
Housequake played by a mariachi band!!!

Head spinning? You really shouldn't read my posts...

He can do what he wants with any other album except 1999. And if you want to hear what that sounds like with horns etc then just listen to his live stuff from Parade on up...I cant stand when I hear 1999 etc with horns. It isnt meant for that, its meant for futuristic synth jabs. He turned his Prince MN.songs into JB review songs for the most part after 1986. That to me was "boolshit"-(Bernie Mac)

It's the same way I feel about how Otis Redding changed the Stones' "Satisfaction" with horns playing the guitar riff. It just doesn't fit. Sounds like some damn Vegas version.
