Hidden Track - NPS

"Wasted Kisses" from NPS is an overlooked track mostly because it's an add-on & it's a little repetitive but i think if he actually took more time on it he could of crafted a classic, it's got a dark element that he rarely showcases, any thoughts?

I think sometimes that Prince put the extra blank tracks on NPS & TRC so you can't put the cd on Random - otherwise you get a lot of dead spots if you try.
Prince hates Random Play.
Either that or he is just trying to mess with your head.

It's hidden but there was a clue it was there.

It scared the crap outta me the first time I heard it. The last song had finished long ago and I hadn't stopped the cd yet...and all of a sudden I hear this UFO sound and a song comes on.

I do like the melody very much. And it has got a smooth rhytm.
But I don't like the fact that it is so short and that it has that hiphop sound to it, ... it unfortunately has no real structure, build up, bridge, ending , solo. The lyrics leave me with question marks, never have figured them out.
But it is with "Come on" and "the One" my favorite song on NPS, which says a lot on how feel about that album I guess.

Yeah, but... the beauty of the song IS the storyline, not the structure, build up, bridge, etc. So yeah, if the lyrics don't mean anything to you then there's really not a whole lot left to go on.

How do you know what a UFO sounds like?

That song is mellow yet it still has a nice funky flow. he never ceases to amaze me. by the way the song is just long enough to make the point, you got to appreciate that.

REDFEATHERS

I'm glad someone decided to mention this song. I love it!

I got a bit freaked out when I first heard it. I was in the back of a cab and I just heard all of these sirens. I looked around to see what the commotion was - I was a bit sleepy at the time, I think I had just woken up and the CD had continued to track 49 or whatever - but there was no accident or anything when I looked out the window! Oh Prince! you got me again!

Excellent song though, it is sooo sad! Very touching.

It's a very cool song!! If you notice that when the songs are played, there's no number 7 as a real track. So, I figured it out by 7*7=49. I guess I'm a weirdo!!
I'm back!!!!!!!

Great Topic:

I was taken by surprise, I was chilling in a Park and the CD ended, Well I was a little tired so I just didn't change the disc, then maybe 10 minutes later I guess, I heard these weird sounds and it freaked me out, I started looking up in the sky, looking in the bushes and then the song came on. I probaly looked like a fool looking around but then I was happy, Prince got me good, and I love the song, seems to me that this guy came to a realization that his girl wasn't what she was suppose to be and he jumps out of a building and commits suicide. It is one of my most liked songs. Can't get tired of it.
How you gonna get my back when you fronting.

Wow, I thought it was just me that got scared when that song came on. I was in the kitchen washing dishes and listening to the CD. It's like the NPG ad on Rave. I was in the bathroom looking in the mirror,(trying to be cute smile). I thought the CD ended withWherever U Go, Whatever U doso I just let the CD go, then I heard this deep voice I thought someone was in my house! It freaked the crap out of me... which is convenient since I was already in the bathroom redface

Bad girl you shouldn't have said that, such a potty-mouth! Get it, POTTY-mouth.lol I'm on a roll today or maybe it's because I'm delirious from insomnia. I haven't slept since Thursday!! Sleep, where are you? I miss you, please come back!!! sad
