Nowadays remixs are not really remixes, but for a few. Most sound just like the oringinal like "Someday I will Understand" sung by Britney Spears is the same to the remix, but the instruments tempo is different. That drives me crazy! mad If u do a remix, do one. Don't put out the same dumn ass song for some ass fucking money! I know if Prince do a remix of 3121 it would be something unqiue and something worth listening to. Prince 3121 album to me sounds great and killa to me!!! I understand why some people might not think that it is his best work and keepin' it on the low. I listen to his older albums, they sound different than 3121. I also think that Prince do have a few songs which do show a limitation on his abilities instrumental wize and the overall composition.

Okay, I've been listening to a lot of previews of some artists with new CDs coming out and has just been released, and one thing that keeps coming to mind with music now-a-days is how FORGETTABLE these songs are. It's like some of the songs are okay and catchy but that's it. I listened to some CDs and I can't even recall some of the songs now because they all seem to sound the same after a while.

I'm wondering if we have given 3121 enough chance. I'm speaking more to those who don't like the CD. Yes it may not be Prince's best work and maybe he was playing it safe, but there's really nothing forgettable about Fury, Black Sweat, Love, The Dance, The Word.

Overall, looking back now, in comparison to what's out there, do you now feel that 3121 is not a bad CD after all?

Oh I liked it from the start and yes compared to whats out there its a very good CD. I think the problem is that now a days people make music to sell, sell, sell. There are very few artist that just don't give a shit about pleasing everyone so they all run to the same producers and then when you turn on the radio it sounds like one continuous 20-30 min loop of the same songs.

But yes I liked 3121 when it was released and I still do today.

Thanks for the post. That's exactly what the radio sounds like. Just a continuous loop of the same type of songs. I'm beginning to appreciate 3121 more and more, and more.

tonight, i sit here...at 1:30am in the morning...after a great night hanging out with great orgers (dook, miquelgomez, superspaceboy, natsume, heart, uncle, sweet, stax, andy and the living legend theAudience) and as i reflect on the night i listen to the beautiful albu that is The Spirit Music Jaimia: Dance of the Infidel and I say, NO!!! I will not accept anything less then beautiful moving music.

3121, for me, does not move me...I just wish folks would stop looking (or desiring) for quality music on the radio...cause Meshell's last album sores above all that is on 3121...and other albums do too...sure, you don't hear this music on the radio...but its out there...and its out there waiting to be found.

sure, 3121 is better then whats on the radio...but theres soo much more out there to be discovered...so much more that once you find it; once you find it...you too will not be satisified with just better then whats on the radio.

IMHO.

3121 better than any other album out there right now..

it aint about what he used to do, it about what he doin NOW compared to all them other fronters...

always been that way.

it aint the best music in the universe, but its the best music in the commercial world.

You are definately right. There is a lot of great music/musicians out there and radio today is not the place to discover them.

I turn on the radio now & then, but other than a couple jobs that ran it constantly I haven't really listened to it in 20 years.

It would be nice to hear good stuff on the radio, though. It's part of the fun of hearing new music.
