Wouldn’t it be something if his next released recording was so deeply personal that it could make "The Truth" blush? An album recorded solo on the floor of a darkened Paisley Park studio -- so raw, so real, so untouched as to completely remove his option of plausible deniability.

I’m clueless as to where he might be headed. I mean even more clueless than normal. And that ain't easy.

The last few years seem to have him slowly traveling down a path that leads away from religious fundamentalism. Will he continue down that path or will he wander into the wilderness for a few years and show up out of no where with the follow-up to "The Rainbow Children"?

The only thing I’ve heard from him musically that was likely written this year was that clip at his now-defunct music club, and that didn’t exactly strike me as an emotional rainstorm; or even that much of a change in direction.

Whatever he’s brewing, I’ll be here to take a sip when it’s served.

Don't Hold Your Breath.

As I've said many times before, when Prince disappears for a few months everybody starts thinking he must be working on something unusually big and creative. But more often than not, he just comes out with your usual everyday album. There were 2 years between Musicology and 3121, there were rumours flying around that there was more to the project than just an album, that perhaps there was a tie-in with a film project, but it came to nothing, and now I'm hearing the same rumours about Prince's next project...
