Prince at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!! wat a night, im lucky 2 have seen this. It was his night and he completely upstaged everyone and stole the show. I Even got chills from Prince playing the guitar during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and i think he upstaged everybody including Tom Petty. Wat i wanna no is wat were the per4mers comments about Prince's per4mance, maybe wat did Tom Petty think? and did anyone besides me get chills about Prince's guitar playing. Hes got 2 b one of the best guitarists ive ever seen.

They havent had a interesting artist since Prince.
But I do wish he played : Purple Rain instead of Kiss!!! If he played that with that amazing guitar solo, damn they should retire live performances. Lets Go Crazy Sign O Times Purple Rain Then... When my Guitar Gentle Weeps case closed. The Rock Hall should just retire live performances.

I don't know if it's known what Petty et al thought of Prince's performance, but it was telling that when they put up the performance on George Harrison's website (I think it was) they used a differently edited version where they turned down Prince's volume and turned up the other guitarist who had soloed earlier and was also playing during Prince's part though originally you couldn't hear him. That clearly suggested they didn't approve of Prince's showboating and wanted to make the performance more of a band vibe.

I recall Petty saying it was cool to have the chance play with Prince. From the video, Dhani Harrison seemed to be thrilled by the performance.
IMO, don't put an electric guitar in Prince's hands, put him on stage and expect a nice reserved performance. That just ain't him. Frankly, he gave people a reason to actually remember that performance. "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

Prince was one of the inductees. It was the All-Star jam. He's an All-Star. He jammed.

And then you put him up there with an electric guitar to solo on the same night he's being inducted? That's like dropping an egg in a hot pan, you know its gonna fry! Seems to me they need to question their OWN judgement on that one. Maybe they didn't want P to play with them maybe the producers of the show or someone made that call to have P play. Whatever the case there is no denying P tore the house down that night.
