Prince's Do-Rag AKA the Aunt Jemima... His do-rag Aunt Jemima style, pure sexiness  ! I loooove when he wears these. Now I need to know what are they exactly: handkerchiefs, headbands, scarf, old pieces of cloth or what?? Where do you get them? Are they special "Prince Gear" that only he has made specially for him? Tailored to fit his little head and high pompadour? Can someone posts some pics of Prince and his head pieces and hair accessories? I wanna get me one, I would totally rock the shit out of it. Uh,...the reason your thread has gotten the "Oh hell no" type of response is largely due to the "Aunt Jemima" mention, which has a slight overtone of racism. Not saying the racism is coming from u perse, being that u could be black for all I know. The connatation is a drag. If u had just said that u dug P in his do-rags, then it would have been an entirely different galaxy. Also, I heavily doubt that P is trying to evoke Aunt Jemima. The history of the do-rag is long and deep. Brothers (black men) were sportin' do -rags on the street since the 40's. THIS, more than likely, is what P is paying homage to. Morris actually wears one in the opening sequence in Purple Rain. It's been around forever. Out here in L.A., gangstas used to wear do-rags all the time. Tupac evoked this West Coast tradition for a period. I myself, usually will wear one when I go to bed to keep my hair from being totally fucked up when I raise in the morning. But I also have worn it on the street, usually under a hat. It looks cool if your hair is long and u know what the hell you're doing. They'd sit them out overnight to collect early morning dew, then they'd put it on when they started marching in the morning so that the dew they collected would keep them cool.
