Prince a high school dropout?

I was looking at the profile of Prince on AOL and they said he was a high school drop out? I thought he had graduated. Maybe they know something we don't but it always seemed by reports that he graduated high school. Does anybody know for sure?

Profile

Real Name: Prince Rogers Nelson
Birthdate: 6/7/1958
Education: High school dropout
Relationships: Mayte Garcia, 1996 (annulled, 1999); Manuela Testolini, 2001
Children: deceased (name unreported)
Fact: Returned to using the name Prince in 2000, after his publishing contract with Warner-Chappell expired. He had previously been known as a symbol, or referred to as " The Artist Formerly Known as Prince," in order to free himself from " undesirable relationships."
Musical Styles: Funk, Soul, Urban
Similar Artists: T.C. Ellis, The Bangles, Sheena Easton, Michael Jackson, Rick James, Lenny Kravitz, Teena Marie, Ready for the World

hm, I dunno. Most old stuff I read about him says he finished school but wasn't at graduation because he was doing his musi biz thing by then. But again, who knows. ain't there a way we can look up the graduating class at what was it? Mpls Central High School? I hear he was a no-show at the 30th year reunion. hahahahahahaha.

edit:

Oh wait, he did graduate. The school's website says he graduated in 1976. So there we have it.

i reed good and i do maff sumtimes, too.

i remember some interview in 81 when Prince was claiming he finished high school early. anybody remember that? why would he lie? damn he is such a liar. Now I am starting to wonder again. Does Mpls Central High School still exist? I thought I read something about it closing in 82.

hmmm During sound check in Vegas...they were adjusting the lighting and Prince started to joke...he told the backstage people to do a change in the lights...with a little chuckle he said, "This looks like my high school prom!" The guys made a change in the lights again and then P said, "Now it looks like the after party of my high school prom!" Don't know if this means anything other then Prince joking around, but I think most people don't say or joke about things like that unless there really was a high school graduation prom! biggrin

I wonder if he meant by "early" meaning just anywhere from a month to a couple of weeks early. He could have had the credits he needed to graduate but left before the very end to do some music gigs or something!? Just a theory!

Prince graduated from high school.

And, he did graduate early. Six months early in his senior year, which is normal for people who take extra classes during the years to hurry and get out of school. I knew people in my high school who did that. It's not about being advanced, but just taking more classes during the day than necessary.

I've read that instead of going to school from 9 to 2, Prince had class from 7 to 4. So he graduated in January, 1976, at 17.

If he graduated, great, if not...didn't impair his level of professional success. I think he's learned enough in music and life experiences to have an Honorary PhD in music. Maybe one of the local universities would consider doing just that. Should we petition for it???

I read somewhere that he graduated on June 7,1976. On his 18th Birthday.
But, oh well, he's smarter and richer than a lot of people that graduated college.

I'm guessing you went to a school that didn't put much emphasis on spelling?
