He never became uncool in my perception. IN fact, he is cooler now than
he was 20 years ago. He is much more slick in his appearance and not
as freaky looking. (all those wild outfits from the 80's)
His music is cooler than the top 10 on billboard..

Okay, he does things which confound and confuse us, he does things which seem totally irrational at times but that's why we love him. And who's to decide what's 'cool' and 'uncool'.

From "Around The World In A Day" on up. Before that, he was cool as hell in every way. After that, he started getting all artsy/fartsy and even made some "Waldo" ass classical music.

He is cool to me like 90% but there were a few things that is all sorta wrong in my opinion
When he stopped promoting 3121 just as the album went one album too. That was uncool and weird at the same time.
also when he had battle with W&B and self-exclaimed himself as being a slave and them being a plantation. He lost respect from folks in the industry in the process.
and when he refused to join the rest of the musicians onstage in singing we are the world by sucking on a lollipop at 1995 American Music Awards

He's always cool.

Prince is a cool dude, but a few of fashion choices have kind of turned me off:

1986--Finger Waves in UTCM
1993--Finger Waves and the puff on top of his head
1998 (or 9) The multi-pigtail look.

But other than that, he's been right on!

If I found Prince uncool, I sure as hell wouldn't be here right now.
