I was like: 'this is a good song' and then I forgot about it, didn't pay attention (I was like 11, 12 years old). Then a couple of years later 'When Doves Cry' came on the radio and I recognized the sound immediately !!!! I was so waiting for someone who was capable of being up against MJ!

The whole album "Purple Rain" really got me into Prince. I liked some of his songs on the radio before I knew who he was but when I got the album Prince became my all time favorite entertainer.

But "I wanna be your lover" was always my jam. Whenever I would hear it on the radio I would crank the shit out of it! Something about that song makes me wanna do cartwheels.

No, PARTYMAN! When i was 12! And totally the album a few years later.... Then everything working backwards from that. I blame my older brother...
