Who was it that said that the true measure of a legend is when everything before you is obsolete and everything after you carries your mark? I think this is so true for P and the Linn drum machine. That's why whenever you hear it used in music today, whatever it is is automatically pegged as a Prince rip-off. Truely phenomenal when you think that there's really no other artist that has a whole INSTRUMENT implicitly associated to them.

No. Akira Yamaoka of the Silent Hill game series has done better work with programming. Altho no one can be the best at it really, when all it is is pressing buttons. It doesn't require actual technical skill, only composing skills.

I haven't heard him on the drums much but he's great at everything else so why not.
