That's right, we had no web access in the 80's, but there were dreams about communication with no distance borders and limits like this, ...no, better.
There it was a dream... dove

What do you guys think Computer Blue is about? I reckon it is about online dating websites.

"Until I meet the righteous one, computer blue."

Means until I meet someone good on the dating website, my computer might as well be blank - the Windows blue screen of death.

Could Prince have been thinking of the idea of online dating before anyone else way back in Purple Rain era??

Yes. In related news, I'm Yours is about winning items on ebay.

The man is ahead of his time, but I don't think he can see into the future...but I have thought that too.

There's a song by Kraftwerk that came out in 1980 called "Computer World" that is right on target! Talk about being dead on 26 years before the fact.

You are so right. They were light years ahead of everyone with just about all of their stuff back then. I remember hearing the song "Numbers" for the first time and was like daaaaam! lol

ufoclub i am not sure what the company was but we had a dial up thing in the early 80's early 83'

and the dating boards were just bulletin boards... nothing like the pay sites now.

and you are right there so called WWW came to be in the early 90s. (Mosaic was one of if not the very first. the guy that made it got ripped of so he made Netscape)

like i said my dad had it from work in 83' and we used it, mostly for games and stuff (yes ON LINE game) they were text. the only one i remember was a civil war game. you had to allocate money for pay, food, and various supplies.. and it would rate how they did battle to battle... making the north lose the was was EASY...

but anyway the fact is computer dating existed before "computer blue"
