My current take on Prince

.I’ll give U my current TAKE on Prince. Since Prince has freed himself from what he thought was an unjust CONtract with WB, Prince has been doing various Xperiments with his career. A quick recap: 3 cd deal with EMI, NPGMC downloads, commercial collaborative attempt with Rave, ONA tour and LIVE cd release, NEWS, The Rainbow Children live jazz type release, the Musicology “give” away and tour, and finally 3121 where he did some upfront marketing and stood back and let the cd do what ever the cd was going 2 do……..on it’s OWN. Prince is very well aware and has been for sometime that the music business and its OLD format is pretty much DEAD on it. I believe he is like a NOT so mad scientist conducting a few “test” 2 see what the next frontier is going 2 be. Trust me on this, IT’S NOT OVER.

Well, you've certainly got a point there but why waste your energy on them? Seems kind of like pissing in the wind in my opinion.

I know they can be annoying as hell but truthfully, they love Prince or they wouldn't spend so much time concerning themselves with whether it's over or not. Besides, we all know as soon as Prince is ready to do his thing, they'll be kissing his ass so hard, his butt cheeks are gonna need chap stick! lol

My brother, that is quite a TAKE from someone close enough to Prince that Prince calls him on the phone. Are we to "trust you on this" because you got another phone call from P, or are we just bowing down to your ability to restate the obvious?

We're all brothers and sisters; some would say we're angelic sisters and brothers.

I've been a Prince fan longer than you've probably been alive. Quit trying to run "Prince called me on the phone" scams on these people here. You're a passenger on this ride; you aren't the driver.

To be sure, fans can be critical and rather harsh with their opinions of Prince"s behavior. It's simply opinions. If being a True Funk Soldier requires absolute mindless devotion, count me out. Perhaps someone should start a website titled: Princefrontalobotomyfan.org. The only time I'll consider P over and done with is when he's 6 feet under. I'm sure alot of members here would agree with me.

Being a True Funk Soldier hasn't got a damn thing to do with mindless devotion. We KNOW Prince is flawed as is every other human on the planet and we love him ANYWAY, flaws and all. It's a wonderful little concept called acceptance.

We don't hold on to his flaws and use them as excuses to berate and belittle him at every turn as does the folks with the simple opinions around here.

My current take on Prince is:

He's slow, and a little too shy, but as always a LOVEly Guy.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

When you live life fully aware that ever discision you make, everything you do, will effect you for the rest of your life, you tread very carefully on the path before you. This seems like alot of work, and too much work for many, but after living like that for a while, you get really quick and clear sited as to "right and wrong"

Speaking of acceptance, the "folks here" are anything but simple, including their opinions. This is a Prince website. Many members precipitate statements with IMO. You've clumped the topic into Us vs Them.
To quote an earlier statement you made, "why waste your energy on them", since this is off topic, I'll save wasted energy and remove myself from furthur discussion.
