Speaking about strength..I remember my friend (and spirtual teacher) Jenifer telling me that in martial arts sometimes it is more effective to take a punch sometimes rather than try and block it. Because if you can absorb the pain it takes ALOT more out of your opponant than them meeting with your energy to block it. I was thinking that that not only applies to the physical but also the emotional. If someone wants to treat you negatively sometimes if you take their words or hostility but you don't reciporcate it back then they feel alot more exuasted and spent and eventually get too tired to continue.

Sometimes negative energy can seem overwhelming expecially if you are a very senstive person but if you have the strength to absorb it then discard it in a healthy manner it is alot less taxing on you than trying to fight every battle with everyone. biggrin

No.

There's places where you can be hit that will knock your ass out. You can take a punch, but you shouldn't take their punch. A good example of this is if someone trys to punch you in the nose, it would be best and quickest to bow your head a little and make their strike hit you in the forhead. This would not only take their energy, it might too break their hand, for the forhead i the hardest part of the head.

However Idealy, blocking can mean energy on energy, but idealy it would be a transferance of their energy into a direction undesired by them. If done right the amount of energy one needs put out to divert another's striking energy is minimal, and it leaves openings for a nice bitch slap.

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

Ever hear the radio interview with his old engineer Michael Koppalman? He said something along the lines about how Prince would make him so mad that he would sometimes daydream about taking him in a boxing. He said like Prince was petite but he looks like he could definatly put up a fight...it would NOT be easy to take him down although it sounded like Koppalman thinks he could it just wouldn't be easy. lol

OK.

So no one here remembers the Electrifying MOJO interview, in which he's asked something like, what is something that most folks wouldn't know about Prince. His reply was that he is much stronger than he ever expected.

Also, U can't just fly off a drum riser and land in a full split without being both athletic and strong. U can't underestimate strength because of size.

Yeah that's right. it actually takes alot less energy to just take a punch than block it, altho you don't just take it, you do it by using chi. Altho that only applies to certain areas, if someone trys for the face then it's time to block haha.

Hey, Bruce Lee wasn't all that big, and he kicked ass! Seriously though, if P got in a fight, he'd give it his all. He can look pretty ferocious sometimes. I'd just be concerned about the aching joints.

I always wondered specifically how MOJO knew this... Like, did PRince help him push start his car? Did they arm wrestle?
