If you've stored your Prince collection on your hard-drive as mp3 format, what size is it?

Mine is 2.82gigabytes.

Great cause I fit the whole thing on my portable MP3 player, plus I have it on my office PC and home PC too.

I recently burnt my entire official releases collection at 192kbps mp3 onto DVD data discs as backup copies (incase I lose/scratch my originals). This included all albums + singles, assossiate artist albums + singles, NPGMC stuff etc. I think it came to something like 9 Gigabytes!! I'd shudder to think what it would be if I included my bootleg collection!

Of songs I consider as "listenable" quality (i.e. official releases, soundboard [or close] live shows/songs, and ex+ quality unreleased tracks), I've got 1092 tracks totalling 6.22 gb. Those are all 192kbps encoded AAC files, which I much prefer to MP3s. (A 192kbps sounds better than a 256kbps MP3 with much smaller file size).

That's Prince/0(+> tracks only, not including associated artists.

I've less then a Gig including videofiles.

I had 20 gbs before before I had to format my comp...

Can't find out, but perhaps you guys could do the math. I have 148 Prince tracks with a running time of 663.52 minutes or 11 hours 3 minutes and 52 seconds of the God. They are all MP3. What would you say and are 256kps or what that means.

You can fit the entire official works (albums only) onto a dual layer 8.5gb disc at 192.

You can fit every 12" and 7" edit, plus all unreleased songs onto another 8.5gb DL disc (192).

Associate artists is a different call, as it depends on the definition. The "main" acts will again all fit onto one 8.5gb DL disc.

Live stuff...don't bother. I'm at 7 8.5Gb Dl discs and counting.

I have 7.26 GB which includes Prince, The Time, SheilaE., Vanity, Apollonia, and Mayte. Plus scores of bootlegs and a few scattered videos.

Ingrid Chavez was special enough to get her own folder in the 'Non-Prince' folder
