This morning when a caller was talking 2 Howard about how great Randy Rhodes was as a guitar player and was lookin 2 hear Howard's thoughts on the former Ozzy sideman... Howard broke into what was rather refreshing. He got serious and talked about how amazing Prince is as a guitar player etc . He also talk about how he's always left off these so-called list that pick the best players ever~

When it comes 2 Prince he seems 2 really have much respect 4 him. Howard who will rip on anyone at anytime sometimes really hits the right notes. Of course Robin backed him up on his thoughts talkin about how great he plays live etc...Thought I'd toss that out...

Incredible ...never thought I'd live to see Prince and Randy Rhoads mentioned in the same post!!

Kinda funny since Howard tagged the phrase "the artist people used to formely care about" & the "artist formerly known as popular"

Also, at the press conference about the name change, Howard called Prince a douchbag several times n said does he live in a cage, does he relize his records aren;t selling anymore?

Everyone is allowed a change of heart tho, Even Howard Sperm.

i remember when SOTT came out howard used to play guitar excerpts from u got the look praising in amazment what prince was doing , this was years ago

Yeah Howard Stern said when he was partying with John Stamos and Rebecca they were listening to Prince.

I was driving when I heard him say it. I almost crashed! JK

I listen to Howard every day and it was a great way to wake up today. He often talks about how Prince is just brilliant.

Who wouldn't just love to hear Howard interview Prince? It would be hysterical. Howard would rain question after question on him about the women he has had in his bed. He has done this to Lenny Kravitz but Prince would be even better. The only problem is Prince's current religious fervor would kick in and he would probably storm out of the studio.

Howard talks or "rips" on everyone.. you gotta have a thick skin..

BUT he rarely says bad stuff about Prince.

I have listen to Howard for 11 years and over those years he has said this:

* He watches Purple Rain atleast once a month

* When he got Rebecca Roman Stamos NAKED in his appartment.. he put on Prince and she took off all her clothes..

* He had another nude party with Carmen Electria & Rebecca and he put Prince on again.

* He thinks he is the best musican on the 1980's -1990's

* Prince has the best taste in women!


I think if Prince went on his show.. the worst we would hear is " who did you sleep with" and he would ask names.. BIG DEAL?? Howard has 25 Millions Listners! Prince can sell a TON of albums.. plus I bet they would become good friends.

I heard that this morning, too. It was a surprise because as Howard asked, "You know who never gets mentioned on these lists and is one of the greatest guitarists?" I answered in my head "Prince". And I almost fell out of the car when his answer matched mine!!

Well, Robin wasn't totally complimentary as she called Prince's playing "derivative" in the same conversation. But she did say he's great live and she's said she's gone to see him before on the show.

Howard has always been complimentary towards Prince as a musician, going back many years. But Howard goofs on any celebrity who does anything unusual, so he's torn into Prince many times. But he rags on most everyone, even his friends, so I wouldn't take it too seriously. I'm sure he'd be very gracious and appreciative if he ever met Prince in person. I'd LOVE to hear Prince on the show someday, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. I doubt that Prince is a big Howard Stern fan as Howard isn't exactly into "Positivity", and he's also openly anti-religion. Maybe Prince does dig him, but I think it's highly unlikely.

Prince is definitely one of my favorite guitarists of all time, up with Dave Navarro. I hate those top ten lists anyway, they always list Steve Vai. Steve Vai sucks.

as soon as Prince needs money he will go on Howard and his 25 million listeners..

but Prince is pretty much set forever.. while making $1 Million per project his cut.. with NO Public Relations, No Radio Play..
