Who here is not a member of NPGMC & what are your reasons (that is if you dont mind sharing them with us ) for not joining?

to be blunt> prince is cool, but i don't need to pay 100/yr to be in a club of "fams" since i don't consider myself that attached to prince (his music is Nice) but thats debatable as well these days. as u can see by the amazon sale and the fact that eventually ONA and all the others will hit the store one day, the fact that i got it last doesn't bother me. my tastes vary depending on whats going on in my life.

in a word or two Blues is my first love so if i HAD to join anything it would be there (and thats only of they were forced underground).

I'm not yet a member. My only reason is that I just wanted 2 make sure of some European tour action first.

But now... I cannot keep my cash in my pockets!

I am not a member because i saw a dip in the quality of the material that was being given 2 club members the first year.I had a feeling he was going to milk year 2 and 3 for all it's worth.I might rejoin next year.In the first year he came out strong,lots of new material,then slowed dramatically with songs we already had and the samples of ONA.I still feel i got my money's worth from year 1 and as of right now i'm glad i did not join for year 2.

I would if I could but I still live with my parents and they don't really allow me to travel alone. So, I guess I have to say Prince babe u don't come around my area enough and I can't go up their that often so u know. That one special time earlier this week was about it for my sister and I.

Excuse me, Does that mean that I am any less a fan than the one who shells out a c note to get a cd that I don't have. I don't think so. My love for Mr. Nelson is just as deep as a "member"s is. Maybe even more.

I'm not a member because $100 seems a little steep for me right now. I've debated on if I should join or not and from what I have heard from members of the club it's not worth it for me at this point in my life. Maybe I'll do it someday when I'm rich.

Haven't had the funds, plus I'm waiting until all of the other CD's are put out first. Hopefully by X-Mas I can join.

nothing He has thus far is worth me signing&joining a Club IMHO.I hope He goes back to a Major so He can Get Edited Right&Get His Proper Attention again.I'll buy His Albums but I Won't Join His Cult Club for No BS.un-load the Wicked Jams from back in the day instead of the 99nth Version of "A Case of You" or Yanni Style Piano Albums.un-load the Vault&Give the People the JAMS!!!

I was waiting for Prince to announce he's coming to Europe and, preferably, England. And also to see if it really was worthwhile.

Remember earlier this year when so many people were complaining about not getting their value for money? I said so many times words to the effect of "You idiot! Why the hell didn't you wait and see if the club was worthwhile for you?! You deserve to lose all your money for being so stupid!"

I am no member and i am not gonna be. I buy every album of this men but don't wanna pay ahead and wait for what to come and when. Specific reasons i don't have other than i join as few clubs as possible. If the albums would be in store i would probably buy them so that is no reason for me.
You know it keeps life simple that way ,if i want something i buy it in the free market and that's it,independent as much as possible If i have to depend on a computer more or less i don't join anything. Okay yes i join the org. but that's for free.

I'm a non-member as well. After hearing close friends of mine bitch and bitch and bitch about it, I figured it wasn't worth my money.
And living in Minneapolis, there were quite a few years where I had the chance to see him up close and in person on a regular basis. (And to be honest, I didn't even go all that much. It was just something fun to do on a Friday night once in a while.) So access to things like a soundcheck don't really matter to me.
Also- having close friends in the club, I've been able to enjoy the benefits (listen to the music, attend the last 2 celebrations, etc) and NOT be pissed cause I felt like I wasn't getting what I paid hard-earned money for.
Yup, I've got some good friends indeed.
However, that may all change. After the celebration this year, my "faith" was renewed in the man. And I may have to cough up the cash if I wanna go to the celebration next year. The more we talk about the fun we've had the last 2 years, the more other friends of ours wanna go. And it's probably my turn!

I don't like to pay for cds without listening to it first.

I'm sure you wouldn't mind front row seats though, ChimChimBadass...

I'm trying to stay away from Credit Cards, and you can't gain membership any other way, here's a letter I sent and received from the NPGMC: (I'm the one asking questions ofcourse)

My name is Shaun, I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions for me.

1) I don't own a credit card, I'm trying to stay away from them. I have my $100 membership fee, I was wondering if there were other payment options. Could I send the club a money order? If so, I would need an address if available.

2) It being the middle of the year, will I still recieve 'The One Nite Alone' CD, I understand that the first batch have already been sent out, will there be a second?


Yes, all 2002 members will get the same 4 CDs no matter when they join.


3) Any word on dates for the next 3 CD's ?


No, it will b up 2 Prince.


4) What are/if any plans for next year, what should we expect, and look forward to?

I understand that you guys are very busy, but I hope I sent this out soon enough tho recieve a copy of ONA. I hope we can work out, another billing option, if not, I understand. I'll have to find alternative means to gain membership.

So, unless I sign my name to the many credit card apps I recieve, there will be no NPGMC for me. I'm a college student, $100 bucks doesn't come along as often. When I had the money, I tried to get into the club but as you can see, I was unsuccessful. Like I said I'll find other means to gain membership to the club
