(try to)Get it on the floor...

What is it about people comparing Prince and Michael Jackson? Or is it just a phenomenon I fail to somehow comprehend?

Because, according to this article, this is a fierce debate as to who reigned supreme.

It's a "no brainer" to Michael's fans, but, evidently, it is still hotly contested in some corners of the universe. But now it seems there is empirical evidence to help put this issue to rest, hopefully once and for all.

First, did you know that there is a semiannual MJ VS Prince bask thrown by KeiStar Productions in New York? It referees a battle of the bands between Prince and his assorted lot of protegeses such as The Time, Vanity 6 and Sheila E against the King of Pop and his family. The winner is the one that gets the most feet up and dancing.!

Michael led early with his classic duet with ex-Beatle, Paul McCartney, "Say, Say, Say."

Prince countered with "I Feel For U." Sweet, but not a dance fave.

And again, "I Feel For U," this time by Chaka Kahn. Score one for Chaka.

"Somebody's Watching Me," Rockwell. Berry Gordy's son's only hit with Michael bringing his strongest to this "ode to paranoia."

"The Glamorous Life," Sheila E. Prince produced this dance fave. Lots of bodies on the floor for this one.

Ahhh. "Feverishly funky," the classic "Working Day And Night" makes it impossible to sit down. Although three decades old, it "sounds as fresh as when it first debuted."

Huh? "When Doves Cry" is too slow to score at a dance party. Fans still sing along.

"P.Y.T." is, admitidly "fluffy and poppy" but pales to "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."

Prince scores with "The Bird," by The Time. And the Morris Day "I'm Too Sexy For This Song."

The Jacksons counter with the inspirational "Can You Feel It."

"Little Red Corvette" by Prince. Touche.

"Another great Jackson moment..." it's "Off The Wall."

Janet Jackson picks up the Jackson banner with "When I Think of You."

"Starfish & Coffee." To quote the author of this piece, "UGH! Not one of his (Prince's) best."

WHOA! The Jackson 5 pull out the major dance classic, "Dancing Machine." Even if you hated disco, this one would get you on the floor.

And the winner is...drum roll... Michael Jackson!

To quote the article "Say what you want about the man, but Michael Jackson and clan know how to get a party started and keep it going."

We could have told them that.

It was stated over at HQ. MJ music may make you dance more, but there's nothing like a live Prince show. Therefore, we should all be able to like them both.
