I've watched Prince's performance on GMA's concert series, Mary J. Blige's and Pharell's. Quess who was the only one not to have a little album pushing chit chat with the host. Who seemed to request that they don't even stand near him on the stage? Yup, our boy Prince. This makes me feel a little more sorry for Tamar, because a real mentor would've used the opportunity to let her shine. Or was the album heading for the 'vault' even then?

"let her shine"? He put her front and center for 98% of the performance in front of the country. He did his stuff in an almost obligatory fashion. He was in the zone on Red Headed Stepchild. Thats why people were complaining. Watch it again.

Yeah that would have been an even greater oportunity for her but Prince just being there I'm sure helped some what as did their other tv appearences.

This is 1 of the things that I love most about Prince-doing things as HE sees fit,no matter who likes it or not!If he'd spoken with the hosts,I'd have been disappointed. He'd seem so ordinary then...U rule,Prince! Never change-unless U want 2!

A tour with a musical legend playing backup for you
Ads for your album inserted into that artist's gold album
multiple TV appearances with that artist
coming further than 99% of the people who try to "make it"

Would the fast majority of people that have heard Tamar have ever heard her without what Prince has done for her? It may not be playing out to be a fairy tale, but it's pretty damn good. I'll bet she is having a blast.
