We don't play live music in Kingdom Halls... w/ perhaps one exception...

There used to be piano players in some places... but not everyone had a piano, so the WT Society made recordings for people to sing along to. Some congregations might still have piano players, for all I know.

Prince playing, say, piano or guitar in the congregation would develop a cult of personality, no doubt, that we would find unacceptable. We are all supposed to be equals as servants of God (speaking as a JW).

lol I can't imagine Prince at any convention let alone a JW con.
I would imagine P and other JW ministering what they know about about God and P just sittin back on a purple velvet couch with a white silk robe suckin on a lolly pop and nod to certain gestures or suggestions made.

lol smile

The annual observance of the Memorial of Christ's death was held at Paisley Park in 2003 and 2004. Basically because it holds more people than their Kingdom Hall does and the brothers in the congregation felt it was appropriate to take Prince up on his offer of a larger venue.

Prince didn't do anything more there than anyone else -- which is sit quietly and listen to the discourse. Then he and his wife mingled and spoke to other members of the congregation.

There were just around 300 people there, which is fairly average for a larger Memorial.

The music was the standard recordings of two of the songs we regularly sing at our meetings -- no live music. Prince sang along with everyone else; couldn't hear him above anyone else, either. wink

It was very nice. biggrin

edited for: Oh -- and Jehovah's Witnesses worship at a "Kingdom Hall". We don't call it a church. smile

eek
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
