What To Expect So my collection is almost complete as far as official albums go. I also have some boots, demos and some concerts and stuff. As far as offical albums go, the only ones I am missing are New Power Soul, Rainbow Children, Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic , One Nite Alone (Studio), N.E.W.S. and the other internet stuff (Slaughterhouse, C-Note, Chocolate Invasion etc...). I don't have any singles altough I do have some B-Sides and extended versions as well.
So today I ordered some stuff off Amazon and I want to know what to expect. I ordered New Power Soul, Rainbow Children, Scandalous Sex Suite and Beautiful Experience EP. What should I look forward to the most and what are some highlights? If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand

New Power Soul is perhaps his worst cd with many a cringeworthy moment. The Beautiful Experience is a collection of mixes of The Most Beautiful Girl in The World and is worth it for 'Beautiful'. Scandalous Sex Suite was recorded with Kim Basinger and I haven't heard it for ages but the little known track 'Sex' is on it.I suppose it's ok and worth it if you're a die hard.

Try to listen to it without any preconceived ideas that the Org may give you. There are some great tracks on that album and a few duffers - just like any other Prince album, but it's incredibly funky and Wasted Kisses sends chills down the spine both lyrically and musically. The Rainbow Children is a classic. The 'darth vader' voice is the most controversial thing about it, but personally I don't mind it - it adds to the usual Prince weirdness. There is some amazing stuff on TRC, but the lyrics can potentially offend some. Scandalous Sex Suite is okay, but the chat between P and Kim Basinger is actually quite embarrassing to listen to. Beautiful Experience EP is just average, but the mixes are interesting and the packaging is good.

The Rainbow Children is an artistic expression, writen like a story book, you should listen from begining to the end. New Power Soul is a mostly fun and party type ablum. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

New Power Soul's best tracks in my opinion are "The One", "When U Love Somebody" and "Come On" with Chaka Khan .

Is that Chaka Khan? Always thought it was short-lived NPG member Kat Dyson who appears with P in the video... Scandalous Sex Suite is a gem to have, although actually the 3 part extension of the song goes on too long in my opnion. The third bit is the best with Prince doing some distorted guitar playing which is cool. The track Sex is a cool little minimilistic odditty with Prince singing in a Camille-esque voice. The Beautiful Experience is a load of remixes of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, it gets a bit boring after a while but taken individually some of the remixes are cool. New Powersoul is slick funk. No rock tunes, just phat R&B sounds, an NPG album that is all Prince unlike the previous 2 NPG albums. When it came out, it sounded kind of bland and like a lot of music out around that time, but perhaps as it ages and gets more out of context it sounds odder and is appreciated more. Some good tracks, some bland ones, if nothing outright terrible. TRC is fantastic because it is Prince not caring about creating something commercial, just Prince following his muse, which while making it appears to be a combination of his new-found fervour for the Jehovah's Witness religion and then-wife Mani. The album is infused with pseudo-religious preaching which many find to be difficult to take. But seperate that out and the Darth Vader narrator voice, you have some wonderfully odd, beautiful, challenging music, Prince stretching himself compositionally. An album that definately needs repeated listening to be appreciated - but if you don't like to be musically challenged, this isn't for you.

You should look forward to all it. It's Prince music you haven't heard yet. Even if you don't like all of it, there's nothing like the rush you get from hearing the ones you do like for the first time. Enjoy those moments!

Thanks all for the responses. Sex suite is what I am really looking forward to. And I really didn't know about New Power Soul, but I got if used from Amazon for $1.37! So I figure whatever. Even if I don't like it I can round out my collection. If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand
