If Prince hadnt tried phoning him pretending to be the head carpenter,none of this would have happened. I saw that, too. I think Jay almost made the joke about TAFKAP (instead of Prince) b/c they do sort of seem to be friends. Technically the joke wasn't about Prince at all...and it wasn't that funny. Jay could have been a long meaner about it, but for some crazy reason I sort of think he was trying to be a bit decent.
Then again, I'm probably giving Jay way too much credit, or over-analyzing the entire thing (bad habit I have). I normally don't watch The Tonight show--I think Kevin is a huge homophobe and Jay plays into that + the jokes are not funny. But Monday night is Headlines, which I like so I tuned in. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |

Yes that Joke was very behind the times, dated, and also it isn't even accurate, being Prince is known to rent places. I'm not a nay sayer against Prince jokes, but they should be current. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
