"I wanna be your lover"
I remember thinking"who/what is this?!" On first listen I thought it was a woman... When I found out it was a male singing this hot song(it was such a different sound at that time,on radio)I just wanted to hear more. I can still remember the car ride.... I had this feeling music was going to change for me. my phone is heavy

I was seven and I don't remember when that song came out but I could imagine everyone must have thought, "Well this is different."

It is a beautiful song, with a even more beautiful guitar solo. Yup, I have the live version from One Night Alone. I have not listened to the studio version in a long time. I saw a video clip of that, some wicked shit. Even better solo.

Batman was my introductory album. I didn't even know who Prince was, being so young at the time, but during the movie's release I was obsessed with collecting anything to do with it. The song that really got my attention was Vicki Waiting, so I'd cite that as the one that first got me. The one that hooked me permanently though was Cream [Edited 7/31/06 22:48pm] I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

wonder505 said: This is not about your favorite song. But which song hooked you in and made you start to like Prince. For me it was When Doves Cry back in '84. It was something about the opening, that guitar, that made it so interesting. Never listened to Prince before that. Ofcourse when I saw the video, I was like, hmmmmm. When Doves Cry opened up the door and pave the way for many years to come.

Dude was a riot, but infectious. The Amreican Band Stand performance is what I remember of him first.

The Cross (aka the christ) News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
