Prince's Wife Plans Home Fragrance Line

Prince's wife, Manuela Testolini Nelson is launching a new home fragrance line, 'Altru', which is based on her travels around the world.

Altru is part of Gamillah - her company which is aligned with a variety of social causes. WWD reports that there will be 16 pieces in the Altru collection including soy-based candles, interior fragrance oils and incense sticks and holders. More than half of the proceeds will go to the In A Perfect World Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to inspire children to become world leaders.

The Altru products are divided into six groups based on certain scents and named for qualities such as:
Harmony (tanenashi persimmon),
Integrity (Persian lilac and bamboo),
Artistry (masala chai),
Remembrance (grapefruit and Italian rosemary),
Wellness (white clove and wild ginger)
Appreciation (tiare and white freesia).

Prices range from $15 to $65 and the products will be sold starting in October exclusively at Nordstrom and at Manhattan's ABC Carpet & Home.

Mani, if you see this I want to tell you that I think you are amazing. It's not because you are Prince's wife..you see children like we do. They have so much potential. In a previous life I was a video producer and met some really special kids that were labeled as not having a chance. We adopted them and they have all turned out to be absolutely amazing. You just never know which child is going to make all the experts look like they know nothing.

In a way, I'm kind of disappointed to hear this. Seems like every other celebrity (yes, she has become one) is either selling perfume or fashion. I'm sure Mani's heart is in the right place, and that this is all for a worthy cause. I only pray that the focus remains on those who could care less about buying some foo-foo. Save the Children... of all colors... roygbiv.

Some of you people on here are unbelievably negative. It's really sad. I don't know what this has to do with Mayte either. Prince has obviously moved past the big butt and a smile phase of his life. Life is a succession of steps toward personal evolution and revelation. The same people who want Prince back with Mayte are probably the same ones who want to see him running around pumping on beds and singing Head at 48.

At least Mani has a brain and an education. She should be applauded for trying to do more than jump around in videos shaking her butt. I respect anyone who tries to affect the world in a positive manner.

First, let me say congrats to Mani.

I am a candle and home fragrance freak. If I run across her line of fragrances, I will definitely check them out.

With that being said, I am starting really think that Prince and Mani are no longer together. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like she is using Prince's name to get her own name out there. I mean, the first word in the title and in the article is Prince's name. If they really are separated, I wonder if they agreed to her getting her charity and business off the ground before the divorce.

That's nice..... but those 2 stores mentioned are no where near me

It's quite impressive to see Mani securing a life for herself. This is good business sense and common sense. Nothing is secure. So the way I see it, she isn't going to sit around living her life through her husband's success, but instead pursue her own desires and create her own success by trying to make a positive difference.
