yes in fact this is one of peaks of Prince's career, the song is uplifting and funky without sounding corny - I love it now as I did the first time I heard it in '86 and the extended version is bliss!!

I thought the same. Please, if he played this at a show, the crowd would go nuts! Especially me. I would lose my mind.

Indeed, it is forgotten by the masses, but not by the fans. This is the heart and soul of Parade and a perfect precursor to Lovesexy. Majestic and brilliant.

I like "Mountains" just as much as I do "KISS" (On the same album). When I listen to that song, I like to turn the volume way up after he says "Guitars And Drums On The One, HIT IT!!" Sweet!

I'll be honest, this is by far my favorite song from him of all time, especially when Eric & Atlanta bring the house down at the end of the song, that breakdown is not to be fucked with.

My other favorite part of the song---

Prince: And the girls sing...

Wendy/Lisa: There nothing greater, but you & me

It's on the Under The Cherry Moon DVD. The only reason to get the DVD is for the Kiss, Girls & Boys, Mountains and Anotherloverholenyohead videos. There more exciting than anything in the movie.

Slow Love on the other hand is totally underrated mad
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Let's look at the definition of "underrated" before we go saying what "is" or "isn't" underrated...

"To rate too low; underestimate."

From what I've read and heard, "Mountains" is practically loved by a lot of people, especially on the org...It also did pretty well on the charts in 1986 (Making it to #23 on the Billboard Hot 100)...So to say it is underrated may be a slight misjuding...However, if you had a strong belief in "Jughead" or "The Arms of Orion," I could see your point. biggrin

it's not really underrated.

the best Prince song ever, in my opinion (the extended version).

He really started becoming much more expressive with his falsetto voice on this track (and Kiss). Those first three albums on which he sings almost exclusively falsetto, he doesn't pull it off with nearly as much nuance or expression.
