It's no secret that Prince has imitated Little Richard in many aspects and phases of his career. The way he used to bug his eyes was pure Little Richard in full frenzy. The hair, makeup and pencil moustache have in varying degrees copied Little Richards. I wonder if they've ever met in person and what was the nature of the meeting. He likes the attention, unlike Prince. For those of you who don't know who Little Richard is, brace yourself, he has some of his best music on his page and no one has ever sang quite like this man.

Yes,, Prince and Little Richard have met many times. As Far as Prince copying Little Richard, I think in some minor ways,, but not as much as ure looking in2 it.

In an interview I saw a long time ago, Little Richard said that Prince what he was doing -- copying LR's style, hair, and flamboyance. LR commented that the only thing that made him mad about it all was that Prince would never admit it.

So Little Richard and Prince have met? I'd like to know the nature of the meetings, or rather, I have heard that they met during the Premiere of Purple Rain, but they didn't really talk as far as I know. And prince blatantly copied Little Richard many times throughout his career, as he has copied many others, it's not a knock, just shows he has great taste. Look at the pic of Little Richard on his page where he has a rag on his head and a polka dot shirt and you can see that he copied him. Many of his mannerisms were taken in whole from little richard expecially that wacky little bug eyed look he started doing in the 1999 video and continued on with through Purple Rain, that was little Richard to the core. And the hair, well not much needs to be said about that. And the femininity.

I read that during the Purple Rain party, Prince was very rude and disrespecful to Little Richard. When Little Richard approached him to talk, Prince told him to get out of his way and walked by him with nary a response! I thought that was rude, seeing that he stole plenty of Little Richard's onstage behavior, dress and mannerisms. I like Little Richard! To me, HE IS THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL!. AN ORIGINATOR, NOT A DUPLICATOR! He will be heralded and praised sadly when he dies! That's how it is with eccentric geniuses - as it will with Prince!

Where did you read that? It sounds like him during that period, in any case a Rolling Stone interview said Prince knew bios of Jerry Lee and Little Richard by chapter, there is no disputing the influence. Like little Richard once said, "prince I was wearing purple before you was born".

I'm a big fan of Little Richard, he was a great talent and showman.

I love that picture. It's like "dammitt, I look good and I know it, whether you like it or not". If it were clearer and not so fuzzy, I'd make it my new avatar.
