Pics of yellow cloud guitar in Smithsonian

I'm sure this is probably "old news" but I found it sort of cool nonetheless: one of my former co-workers now works for the Smithsonian in DC and emailed me the following pics she took for me. Just thought I’d share in...

I don’t recall seeing the yellow cloud too often…is it from D&P era?

Also, shouldn’t the label read “adorned with his personal symbol” instead of “person”?

cool

PS. Maybe I should also mention that the guitar is specifically at The Castle on the Mall...

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Maybe not. I don't know the time frame, but wasn't there a time when he wanted to be identitfied by that symbol?

maybe "person symbol" means something close to a "person's name"
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Yeah, I about that, but if you enlarge the fret board section to see the symbol better it's the same symbol he had on the motorcycle in Purple Rain and in Grafitti Bridge, too. It's not the prince that was his official name. (It's missing the first stroke directly under the O.)

Kind of. He had the same luthier that made his "Cloud Bass" tweek the design for the guitar.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Interesting that the plaque claims the guitar is from 89. Prince didn't pull out a yellow one in public until 1991.

Do you think he had made in every colour, just in case?!
