2 commercial albums...

... have made me yearning for another album in the vein of the Rainbow Children. With this album, I was hoping P had definitely put the past (of making 'hit records') behind him and had started going 'artistic' again.

Today, I find The Rainbow Children to be one of the first albums in a looooong time on which I heard the young, artistic Prince, with the occasional commercial song (The Everlasting Now) on it.

After Musicology and 3121, I'm afraid it was only a one album shot.

Other opinions?...

I've got no idea what's going through the man's head.

I'm not sure TRC is better then the last two. They are simply polar oposets in that contexts.

I've seen the future, but I'm not sure when that starts. LOL
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

You want another TRC as opposed to anything from "For You' to 'Rave'? His best material, be it artistic or "hit-seeking" came from every year before he did his own TRC-esque material. I suppose the real problem here is that 'Musicology' and '3121' don't satisfy us like the albums of past -- we either want something completely different or something that is nothing short of perfection.
