Purple Rain Soundtrack questions Why wasn't there a 20 Anni release of the Soundtrack? I would really like to see an offical CD release of the entire soundtrack. I mean every actual song that appears in the movie. Poor Dez his song never saw the light of day did it? Was there ever a promo single on the 'Modernaire' song?
I am sure that is has been discussed but I could not find a thread. So nobody call the law ok? | |

I agree that a release like that is long overdue but it won't happen till Princey gets his masters back.
The closest think to a full soundtrack is the Japanese promo release 'Strange Tales From The Rain' which has the Prince, Appollonia and Time tracks in the correct order. I am sure that is has been discussed but I could not find a thread. So nobody call the law ok? No, the 20 year anniversery thingy was the DVD release, not CD. It has interviews on it, some videos, footage of people attending the "premiere". those are the extras you get on the dvd. | |

Oh, and going back to your original post Dez Dickerson did release 'Modernaire' on a retrospective CD a while back. WHY wasn't "Computer Blue (Extended Version)" b/w "Darling Nikki (Alternate Version)" EVER RELEASED as a 12"?????WHERE is the "Deleted Scenes", such as Prince Socking Jellybean in the face??? And so on, and so on????? THAT'S what I was looking for in the 20th Anniversary Edition!!!!! | |
