It's a great, musically brilliant album in my opinion...the lyrics do get a bit too goofy and obscure at times, making it hard to connect and relate to the things Prince sings about at times...(although "She Loves Me 4 Me" is easy for me to relate to...I'd love to be able to say those very same things someday... )... | |

it's one of his BEST IMO...buy it  esp if your into jazzy tunes. Great guitar music, w/some funk as always ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The album was not my favorite of mine initially. It grows on you, however (altered voice and all). Good Musically, interesting lyrically, it's a significant upgrade over New Power Soul & Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic in terms of production.
Actually, I thought this album should have been formatted very similarly to Lovesexy (as one continuous track), but then I remembered... Wedding Feast (truly the worst Prince track in years)!!!

A definate must own. It is a departure from Prince of old, but I think a good one. It has class, is tasteful, musicly masterful, the lyrics are a witness to the positive influence his religious and spiritual journey has had upon him even though they remain very symbolic and not preachy in my opinion. Many I have recommended this album to as well as myself have really enjoyed it. | |

one thing that should be said about the lyrics to TRC...
many people have said that the lyrics are too preachy, goofy or just plain out there. everyone is entitled to their opinion and they should be respected, however... you have to admit, as goofy, out there or whatever you want to call it, they are very cleverly put together. i feel that one can enjoy the flow, even if you don't agree with the idea. and maybe, this may be a stretch, you can even be impressed with the way he has chosen to arrange his message. you may not dig the content, but you can still respect the delivery... by the way, i dig the whole thing... | |

It is a good album. It is in the form of a rock opera.
It has a scarry monster voice on it that narrates the story but I try to ignore it. | |

Yup right on the money, everything pete just said. I suggest you go to your nearest Best Buy and purchase. Here in Detroit, Wrecka Stows like FYE, Sam Goody etc are charging 20.00.
