In a weird way, it makes sense. Prince and Mayte seem to have remained friends after their divorce. Inviting Tommy to join the band may be his way of showing that there are no hard feelings. It also may be Prince's way of helping out two new converts.

John Blackwell is studying right now anyway. So what sense does that make? You guys are reaching, man...slow day at the water cooler??
