Finnish magazine, IltaSanomat, publishes today in an article that "pop singer / songwriter Prince's" European roots are quite possibly from Finland. According to the article thorough studies conducted on the family tree of Romppainen by an American monthly journal "Finnish American Reporter" Prince's great grandmother from his mother's side was a Finn called Hilda Romppainen. The family originates from the area of Kainuu in Northern Finland thus tracing Prince's family background also to arctic Lapland. This shouldn't be too surprising as a very large percentage of Minnesotans are of Scandinavian origin. None of the Finnish representatives of the Romppainen family have further information on the matter yet. (P.S. must have been a slow news night as there's actually a picture of a goddamn DOG on the front cover of the magazine...)



Finland welcomes our long lost boy back home with open arms. After all these years from being separated from our fellow Finnish brothers surely the whole nation will come to rejoice this event. Come back home, Prince! We can sit by the lake on a pier all throughout the night, discuss ice-hockey, have reindeer for lunch, drink Koskenkorva vodka together until the early hours, and finally end up fighting each other with knives on the backyard! I always thought there was something mysteriously Finnish about this guy, and I was right.
