Dirty Mind - Head, Party Up

.....

eek What are you, some kind of muppet ????

I guess so. It sounds stale and uninspired to me. I'll keep listening to it, though...maybe one day it will rub off on me.

hard question for me to answer. there's only one prince album i really don't like as a whole (maybe two, but i'm withholding judgment for a while longer), and that album is RAVE. but then he released the remix album, and i really like that version.

3121's worn off for ya, huh?

i was trying to be subtle! lol

i was listening to the song "rave in2 the joy fantastic" at the gym recently, and realized it was more spirited than anything on 3121.

and that made me sad. lol

Great little song. But it's more spirited than anything on Rave too.

I like a fair amount from both, but I still think that "Rave" probably has the most energy and Princeliness of the whole batch.

CoolMF

Good topic- I don't consider any Prince albums "bad"- many of the more recent joints aren't my taste, but when a dude's released over 30 album titles in almost as many years, I won't like everything. Hidden "highlights" from my least favorite albums-

Diamonds and Pearls- Money Don't Matter
Come- title track, Dark
Chaos and Disorder- Zannalee
New Power Soul- Wasted Kisses
Rave In2- Beautiful Strange
Musicology- Pimp & Circumstance
3121- The Word

Also, can I get "Good Love" in there somewhere? Not necessarily on an album (except Crystal Ball), but, back in the day, I brought the "Bright Lights Big City" record after hearing that on the radio!

"Kiss" should have been on another album.

Hidden gems on Bad Prince albums....

Grafitti Bridge--"Joy In Repetition" (Yeah, it's a fan favorite, but the general public needs to understand the greatness of this song...

Come--"Space" (Should have been on the Gold experience..)

Chaos and Disorder- "Dinner With Delores" (A great song from a getting-out-of-my-contract, shitty album...Deserved better...)

Rave In2- "Beautiful Strange"; "Tangerine"; "I Love U But I Don't Trust U" (Three songs that makes the rest of the material sound pedestrian...

I think TRC is the most hideous, self indulgent and selfish album he has ever had the cheek to make BUT on saying that - 1+1+1 is 3 is an absolute gem of a song....I love it wink
