I know it could just be me, BUT I just cannot understand why someone who is no longer "on the Prince bandwagon" would bother to come to a PRINCE site at all. I'm not just talking about the original post on this thread, but any of them. If I'm not interested in someone or something, I just leave it alone and move on to something else. So what's the deal?
And for the record, I'm still on that wagon and maybe it's those people whose WHOLE LIFE revolves around Prince that are so intense about this. I'm not one of them.

I'm not the one who thought so highly of herself that she'd log onto a MESSAGEBOARD just to tell everyone she was leaving, as if she's all that and anyone would give a fuck...so finger

You are the one who implied that it's impossible to know anything if too young, which is complete ageist bullshit and you know it.

Also, you're math was off. mad

If Neppy is 22 now, that means she was born in 83 or 84, which would have made her age 0 when Purple Rain was released. geek

Seriously, no harm intended, but I'm sick of the attitude that some people display that a fan can't be a fan if aged 30 or less.

C'mon, everyone that frequents the PM&M section on The Org can do that! lol
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Oh yes I am.

your argument is similar to someone who says to a person who had just had a divorce: "well you must have never really loved each other in the first plce."

the point of my post was not to slam those of you still into P (I said this in my original post, but apparently your aging eyes missed it. razz)

My point was, I have done something I never thought I would do: fall off the Prince wagon, and not feel bad about it! I have a new religion, a new husband, and while I know those things dont necessarily have to keep me away from Prince, they have-----and I havent suffered withdrawal! Ive learned that I devoted far too much of my time to Prince, as good as he was and still is.

If you take one look at my posting history, youll see just how many hours of my life I used to while away on this website.

So far from this being an indication of me being a "youngen" who will "come to my senses" 10 years from now and have a Prince-epiphany.....Im happy with what has happened. I know Prince doesnt obsess over me as much as I did him, so why dont I take a cue from P, and live my own life? Music is just one part of life, thats what Ive learned....

Thats all I was sayin'...
[Edited 6/29/06 12:51pm]

Why do some people insist on making dramatic exits from a messageboard? Just stop posting. Eventually people will get the hint that you're not into Prince anymore.... rolleyes
[Edited 6/29/06 12:59pm]

Now, who the hell are you? I dont remember your name even being on this site when I first started posting here! Maybe it was, anyway I dont give a flaming fam.

And whats up with the rude attitude? Was the tone of my original post rude? Hell no. Where do you get off acting rude to me when I was simply communicating where Im at nowadays vis a vis Prince? Now some of you people seriously need to stop measuring your worth by how crazy you are into Prince.

I said this is where Im at, and Im fine with it, period. If you want to hash out who's the bigger Prince fan, Im simply not going to waste my time. Its a time waster and its not important.

And Im not making a dramatic exit from the message board. I made a dramatic ENTRANCE. Put your specs back on and read again. I left the boards long ago. I come back occasionally but I dont feel *obligated* to post here to prove I am a fan. I have a lot of knowledge about Prince for someone born the year PR came out, Ive attended two concerts and even work up the nerve to say something to him at one. My old org buddies will remember this comment. lol

Anyway Im sorry you got my entire post wrong.

P.S. I didnt sell all my P stuff because I didnt like the latest album. Im selling it cuz Im a poor student moving across the country for grad school, and all that Prince stuff sitting on the shelf was starting to look more like dollar signs. A tourbook in Japanese? I cant even read that crap. I need toilet paper to wipe my ass more than I need that stuff, any dumbass knows that. Unless you wanna be a fam and wipe your ass with your lovesxy record....be my guest....

lol

Anyway peace to all, no harm intended. I guess some folks wanna brawl over Prince. Then you wanna question my understanding of Prince and get heated about it? Be serious.

Nobody said you DID revolve around Prince. You said it, not me. Its amazing how many people are comin out of the woodwork getting defensive about their Love of Prince. Im talking about where *I* stand. You can stand however you want, but the defensive reactions raise some questions, dont they....

P.S. I didnt say Im no longer a fan. In fact I stated he's good, and still is. And I believe I typed that in the English language.

Im simply putting Prince in a different place in my life. He's no longer in the same place he once was. For some people Prince fills a void, for others he plugs up a small hole.

He's still good, but nowadays he just plugs a hole for me. OK that sounds kinda weird, Im gonna lay off the Forrest Gump-ish maxims.....lol

wink

Amen, Moony. clapping

HoneymoonExpress...can you read the top line of this post? If so, Im surprised cause you need glasses 4 real.

I never said I was leaving the org forever. I said I was coming back, to give a personal update and reflection on Prince, cuz I been gone a long time and a few peeps know me and might be curious what Ive been up to.

OK so I committed the crime of being born in 1984 and playing catch-up regarding Prince...but you committed the crime of being unable to do simple math. hah!

Where's the honeymoon Express? I believe it's missing a lunatic passenger. :-/

Actually, I'm 26. Your insistence that someone born in 1984 doesn't know shit (note the italics) about Prince is beyond ridiculous. Snob.
