I am cheating a bit here, because my favorite B-sides are the best in their long (12-inch) form, but here is my top 7 (in no particular order):

Shockedelica - Grim, sober, hard funk, a very strong cut, worthy of any of the stronger cuts on Sign of the Times (the extended version is top-notch: especialy the part with the guitar solo, when prince is saying: You have been sleeping on my guitar, bitch!).

Why dont you call me no more - One of the best sober / acoustic-like tracks he ever did, great deliverance (just vocals, piano and footstamps). Probably a evergreen.

She's always in my hear - A great psychedelic pop/rock-track, but i must say the extended version is much better, because of this great, weird climax its building up too.

Feel u up - This song might sound a bit lightweight at first, but somehow its a very cool little track, very catchy, especially near the end when the repeating sax motif interacts with the vocals.

Erotic City - Another non-album classic, in the eighties this was one of the Prince-tracks that was put on the most at dance-clubs which i attented around that time, it was a favorite by the audience, also with Non-prince fans. Just a very catchy, funlike and danceable song.

Seventeen days - extremely (almost ashamely) catchy/poppy melody, but the simple, dark lyrics often a nice counterpart for that, a combination that works brilliantly, could have been a hit, if it was released as a a-side.

Sex - Not really a b-side, more of a part of an EP (the scandalous sex suite), but nonetheless a very nice track, some people might find the ongoing simple synth riff irritating, but i think the very DRY, almost 'cold' delivery off this riff, the rest of the music, the camille-like vocals and the silly lyrics, works very good and make this a funny piece of electrofunk.

Has to be 17 Days... a high quality song which could have easily been on/in Purple Rain.

I don't think there is one B-Side I do not like though.

And btw, talkin' smack about Shockadelica is NOT ON!

"When 2 r in love" was indeed the b-side to "Scandalous", however, it appeared on "Lovesexy" and "the Black album". I believe this thread is for non-album b-sides. That makes "Bambi" and "Girl 6" out of the question too. "Crucial" is a bootleg, not a b-side

My favorite is probably "17 days". I also listen to "2 whom it may concern" a lot. I know it's nothing but a commercial for the prince album but there is something about it I like.
