Is it just me or is the +30 min long version of I Would Die 4 U really damn boring? I mean sure it might be fun jamming for 30 min but I sure ain't fun listening to it...

I feel that way about a lot of extended versions, and a lot of his any songs for that matter.

Sometimes it's like he doesn't know where to end a song.

30 minutes???

I love listening to long extended jams! Maybe that is why I like listening to Daisy Chain so much...cuz it sounds just like a loose jam that was made up on the spot.

it ain't just you--it bores me too. same with the long version of "america"...it just gets rather repetitive after a while and my finger starts itching to hit the "forward" button on my winamp player. i can bear to listen to 'em at least once in a long while, but not on a regular basis.

It's not just you. You're right, it might have been fun to actually be there playing it, but it's not always equally enjoyable for the listener.

Of course, I can personally listen to records that consist of one single sutained note for 45 minutes.

I'd be happy 2 take it off anyone's hands out there if ur bored with it!! Lost mine in hurricane Katrina

I love the 12" version and can´t get enough of it. I haven´t heard the 30 min. version yet but I´m sure I´d like it because I love extended jams like Noon Rendezvous or America etc.

speaking of I would die for u was there a version from the purple rain movie? i like that version. so far the only alternative version that i heard of was the 10 min concert version

how does the 30 min version sound like? is it live or studio?
