Hi folks
I am aware that Prince´s songs were covered dozens of times in the past but, I dont know if it´s my impression but he doesnt seem to be covered that much lately, specially by good artists.

I cant stand to see Beatles, Doors, Jimi covered anymore. Everyday there is a new ballet inspired on the Beatles, or a tribute to Jimi...and I never hear nothing about Prince.

Ok, they were more influential than Prince, but I wonder if people really dont want to cover him anymore or if he doesn´t allow artists to cover him. I am not into legal stuff, but it seems that the songwriter must give permission to somebody to record his songs, right? Opinions, please
