I'm quite surprised that so many people actually seem to rate ANY track off NPS as superior to any track off Purple Rain! I certainly don't 'hate' NPS, I actually quite like about half the tracks (Mad Sex, Push It Up, Come On, The One, Wasted Kisses), but even so, Purple Rain is in a completely different league. It's like comparing Stevie Wonder's Innervisions with TLC's first album, or the Beatles' Revolver with Oasis. | |

. Some things shouldn't even be joked about. NPS shouldn't be praised even in jest. Buying that album was a profound tragedy in my young life. Prince had lost it so bad that I knew he was never gonna get it back. Hurricane Katrina, 9/11 and the tsunami were carnivals next to that. | |

NPS (the song) is a masterpiece (with those horns, especially) in comparison! Honestly, I couldn't tell you much about those songs and I wouldn't defend any song outside of Mad Sex on that album. All I know is that NPS (the song) is awful and not in a comical way like Jughead or My Name is Prince. |
