A lot more people liked it than will admit. For some reason, a lot of Prince fans love to criticize him and act like they hate everything he does.

But people were secretely grateful that he performed another new song, and enjoyed seeing him.

I was under the foolish assumption after I saw it that it would've been a big hit, but it wasn't...on the other hand, I suppose it was pretty hard to live up to the previous performance he did with Chaka, which was phenomenal....

OH well I'm here to declare my love and appreciation for the 3121 performance!!! IT RAWKED!!! headbang

It might even still sound great without the rapper! eek razz

Y'all are definitely in the minority.

It is an okay song. It's one thing to play it in a small venue environment with hard-core fans. It is another thing to use it to close out the BET awards.

Simply put..it is not a strong song and the stage show was very weak. The fans and what-not, choreography... very blah.. really, just bad. It ended an otherwise pretty live night.

Unfortunately, I think this is something that will pretty much confirm the opinion of the twenty-somethings that Prince WAS the mack, but he's not really in the game at all. Nothing to see here.. keep it moving.

Believe me, I'm just sick about it, but it's true. He's going to have to come much stronger than this pretty soon. This album he's got now is finished.

You don't give the twenty-somethings much credit because I know a few people as young as twelve who found 3121 live cool and loved "Black Sweat" song/video.

Great acceptance speech, great performance with Chaka, Steve, Yolanda and India. Absolutely Fantastic. Closing out the show with 3121 was pure funk. Absolutely Priceless lol

Loved it! I couldn't wait to this live, and it was great.

The only thing I didn't like was the Tamar co-lead vocals. She didn't capture the attitude and symmetry of the album track very well. I guess that's hard to convey live.

If you asked me, aside from the Beyonce performance, his two were the best of the night. The show as a whole was terrible. His performance of 3121 seemed okay, cause it followed the "raise the roof" spectacle from before. If he were to close a concert with this, I don't think anyone would have any complaints. As for some of the "twenty-somethings" that u mentioned, most of them do not have a clue what real music inventive music sounds like. They were brought up in during the era of sampling...Where if they hear "Beyonce's "Crazy in love", they would think that it was an original song, instead of what it really is....a song that is based on a horn sample. Mind you, I am all for giving these young pups credit, but what about doing the homework, before asking for the credit.

The very fact that we have had a drought of prince live performances for a while, then suddenly we are treated to a few in a relatively short space of time is why. After SNL and Brits there was huge threads on those, as they become more frequent, the threads will get shorter im sure. I wanna know when he is coming to Scotland
