I appreciate that Prince is a showman and tossing the guitar after a performance is part of his stagecraft or whatever... but at the same time, I don't really think it is necessary, it's all a bit Spinal Tap or something! Personally, I enjoy guitars and take really good care of all of mine, not least of all because I remember how hard I hard to work to buy some of them, especially when I was younger! Some of my vintage instruments, I wouldn't be able to enjoy today if they hadn't been well treated over the years by their owners. Prince is obviously pretty wealthy and can afford to trash perfectly decent instruments, but I'd hope that no matter how much money I had I'd always appreciate a beautiful musical instrument and treat it well! Similarly, if I had a Ferarri Enzo or something, I wouldn't smash it up to shit just because I could afford to...

In summary, I don't care what Prince does to his guitars. But I sure wouldn't go lending him any of mine!
