heres the set up:

i have a cd storage compartment for the six to eight cd's that i play most often. i also have an arm rest compartment for about ten cd's that i play less often. well, today prince's 3121 got moved into the arm rest compartment. usually within two months those cd's end up on a shelve that rarely get played.

goodbye 3121...for now.

I am not playing 3121 anymore. I ended up got bored listening to it rather quickly actually. The cd is good and all but it isn't on my current playlist.

I think it's pretty goddamn awful.

i still listen but it feels like i've had it forever u know like emancipation for some reason. the second disc of emancipation gets heavy rotation in my player and this album doesn't feel new. also i wish i had the choice of Tamar or not. she was crammed down my throat. i know i'm gonna look back later while listening to this album and say whatever happened to her? and i don't want that kind of album in my collection i wish he would just keep her a side project this way i can choose whether i want to hear her or not.

I think you guys are ridiculous.

The "typical Prince fan attitude" is starting to piss me off. What do you want from him? The man is 50 years old and has been established as a musical genius and a pop/rock/funk legend for the good part of those 50 years. He has created songs in just about every single genre that exists, and has so many amazing cds that have fans worldwide.

3121 is an awesome album. It has songs that you KNOW you like. Whether you want to admit that you like them or not, because they don't sound like songs from "The Rainbow Children" or "Sign of the Times" which (in my opinion) are overrated, there are still good Prince songs on 3121.

If I were Prince and read all these negative comments from you all, I'd stop making new music PERIOD and just hang up the towel. HOW can you claim to be a fan of the man and criticize EVERYTHING he does? Saying things like you're using his latest cd to level your couch is just plain RUDE and so amazingly disrespectful.

3121 isn't nearly as bad as you guys are making yourselves believe. ALLOW yourself to enjoy the cd. Go back and actually LISTEN to the songs instead of just compulsively skipping the ones that you didn't like at first. I used to hate Satisfied but after seeing him perform it on American Idol I actually enjoy the song now. Please please PLEASE go back and give 3121 another spin and just open your ears and listen to the music. Hear the beats... understand the words.. just listen to the man. His music is great, he is great, and you all need to start being fans instead of judges.

The album is a coaster after 1 listen. (And i don't mean roller I mean drink) I said "This is coaster material and I am so not going to fork over money for this" Everything about it to me was a example of Prince not being inspired to write or record. How many times can you whine over Mani leaving you and JW scripture like it's some enlightening key to a purpose driven life? Go see the World Princey get out of your limo and your rented 3121 pad at Mulholland.

The only thing Prince did right about this album was end it. IF there was no ending he would have created a holy new power jihad on the entire globe.
If "Get on the Boat" was infinite? We would have serious bloodshed and violence even in Mormon communities.
