I've been vindicated about Kama Sutra.

You all dogged me about liking Kama Sutra, but in a press conference that Prince did in 1998, he mentioned that some of his best music had been that album, and that he wrote it for Mayte. So, if you dog me, you dog Prince. hahahaha.

Kama Sutra is the shit. music

I haven't listened to this album in years, but I got a lot of mileage out of it when it came out. There are many songs I love on there.

Embarrassing new age instrumentalist mumbo-jambo. Very amateurish. Prince's problem with that record is that he obviously hadn't listened to ANY other records in the same vein. Just thought it would be a good idea to music like that. It's a mere approximation of the musical style he is trying to embrace there.

... but you like it right? Me too. biggrin

Seriously though, I only listen to instrumentals as background music unless it's jazz (not N.E.W.S.). I need some pace to my music or some lyrics to engage me if I'm not doing anything else.

I haven't heard it yet, but I want to give it a try. I didn't expctt to like N.E.W.S. because of all the bad fan reviews I read, but I think it's great.

Kamasutra
Cutz
Kamasutra (Eternal Embrace)
The Ever Changing Light

All the other songs bore me, but those 4 are great.

I like Kamasutra, but 2freaky4church, if you think that is classical music, or even modern classical, you are beyond high.

If N.E.W.S is Don Giovanni (and it ain't), Kama Sutra is Starlight Express.

It's naff, light, trite and shite.

i have never listened to it from start to finish in one sitting.
it starts to feel like a chore, its boring, and i dont like all the fate or coincidence thing.I found that full thing very cringeworthy almost to the point where i found Prince to be very mind controlling and manipulative.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Right. I think The Truth and One Night Alone suffer from this a little too - Kind of like he was ticking off what he hadn't done.

'Blues' album, check. Acoustic album, check, 'classical' album, check, piano album, check.....
