When Doves Cry - This clip was as new and refreshing as the record back in 1984 and still wears well after damn near 20 years. Unlike the average film soundtrack song, this video offers more than just clips from the film set to music. The set and choreography is pure purple funkiness. WB should be ashamed of releasing the film on DVD and not including this clip.

1999 - At little more money to spend than the earlier clips and it shows. When this is on, you have to stop and watch it even though you have seen it a thousand times. Prince, Dez and Mark up front and the purple lights look 8s cool like a motherfucker and even your mother knows the song

Little Red Corvette - I cant believe no one mentioned this one. This is the one that broke the color line at MTV and crossed Prince over for good. Same set as every video that came from this album (Lets Pretend We're Married (yes, there is a video), Automatic, and 1999). And what about that dance and split has does on Dez's guitar solo? No one can deny this is a classic.

"The Future"...just saw a fam made video to this great song on IFILM.com 2day. It was kinda cool...check it out!

After reading all of the responses, I say all of the videos mentioned are the best.

Definitely the long version of When Doves Cry then long version Baby I'm a Star and I would die 4 U. America long version and Definitely Automatic. There really isn't 1. With Prince how can you have 1 Favorite? There are so many!With Mounds or Almond Joy . What would you pick? Vanilla or Chocolate?

when doves cry is good...but i feel it wud have been so much better if hed dumped those cheesy 80s effects...mayb had wendy doing that soaring solo in a cathedral like setting...purple light shafting throught stained glass windows etc as doves flew about...that wudve been one mother of a trip.

BUT IMHO its got to be U GOT THE LOOK.excellent thumping tune, and his moves on the stage by DR Fink are sumthing else.Its quite a funny vid too,such as when he runs away aand hides behind the dancers after incorrectly thinkin Sheena's beauty would be affected by the 'ugly lights'. or when he gets dragged up the stage and he falls arse over tit.and then that cheeky smile at the end...Prince knows that whats hes just shown u is hot shit.

I hear that Prince played one of the midgets in the BRILLIANT video for "Come To Daddy" by Aphex Twin, therefore Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy" video is my favorite Prince video due to Prince's involvement in the video.
