I am BEYOND jealous I could not witness it all. I am so happy you guys had the experience you did, you deserved it. As for you my Ian, what a once in a lifetime moment, you will treasure it always, and so you should.... freaking awesome babe! Damn I wish I could have been there. I really was thinking of you a lot during the whole weekend, wishing you could have been here to share it all with me. I hope someday we have the good fortune of seeing Prince together- he was the conduit that brought us together and it would be a really cool "full circle" moment. I miss you and can't wait to see you...wife to be. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Really interesting as well that he seemingly wanted to play longer! I'm so curious how they would have done these 3 suckers live: The Word, The Dance and Love. Too bad! One more thing (two actually): Don't Play Me was just Prince onstage? Man, I'm dying to hear this! Black Sweat, too. Did it include this staccato keyboard line from the chorus? More rhythm guitar? During the soundchecks, there were others on stage for "Don't Play Me", but when he played it during the actual show on Sunday, he was alone. The synth whistle was prominent as ever during "Black Sweat". It was a really sexed up performance with Prince and the twins putting on a show. Prince was sans guitar and busted out some adroit dance moves! There was definitely a thicker groove from the heavy bass and drums. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! These reports are the best thing I have read in ages on the Org. Just reading the first few entries was so special -- sitting next to the amps due to a medical condition, getting some health and safety advice from Prince himself, performing Peach on stage... that's just surreal and it obviously could not have happened to better people. Especially after all the bitterness of the post 3121 album launch, it is refreshing to read about all the fun and all the rarely performed songs. I, who never expected to go to Vegas in my life, am now contemplating the possibility. I'm with you. When the new album first came out the initial response was fantastic. But within a few days, I could not believe how sour everything turned. I'm not an asskisser and the negativity doesn't normally get to me, but I almost left the org for awhile because of how harsh everyone was being. Same with the American Idol thing. Same with the news he was setting up shop in Vegas. We just wanted to put something positive out there to counter it. We honestly had the best time. And I always thought I'd hate Vegas too. If it weren't for these set of circumstances, I might have. But I'll always assosciate it with this trip now.

SupaFunkyOrgangrinderSexy said: Moonbeam said: The next night had several more goodies in store. Having slept for several hours after our Princely vigil, we all felt more rested and prepared for Sunday's festivities. We were able to meet several more cool people while in line, including the one and only jseven, John from San Bernardino, Lori and Rita from Italy (SEXY!) and Carolyn. You could hear Prince soundchecking ahead of time, playing "Work to Do" and "Get on the Boat". We all were eagerly anticipating the show after the previous night's thorough ass-kicking, and once we finally got in, Nathan was again able to secure a spot at the front of the stage. Prince immediately launched into the soundcheck, delivering the goods, particularly the hypnotizing "Beautiful Strange" as Romera can attest.
After "Beautiful Strange", Prince launched into the opening chords of "Peach" and I went nuts, having loved the song. Prince soon asked for someone to come up on stage to sing the vocals. Although several women screamed their desire, Prince joked "The song ain't called 'Kiwis'! I need a guy up here." Nathan started screaming and pointed at me and I jumped in my enthusiasm. Prince smiled and called me up on stage! Before I get into the details of the experience, I must add that it was particularly special because in high school, I performed a live version of "Peach" during a lip sync contest in nothing but my boxers and a funky hat. The song was one of the very first to make me a diehard fan and I used to play it before every event during my track meets. Subsequently, being on stage with the best band in the world to sing that song was rapturous. Once on stage, I fell into an immediate groove, as if I was preparing for this for ages! I did my best to do justice to the song and managed to remember all of the words. The very coolest moment was after the second verse, knowing that Prince was going to launch into a wicked guitar solo. I screamed in preparation and pointed in his direction and that mofo rocked the mother! I headbanged my approval and shook my ass to the "Hot pants can't hide her cheeks" part. I was also able to flirt with the crowd a bit which was quite fun. You'll be happy to know I didn't perform the revised lyric, "The Bible's the only book she reads" version. After the song ended, I gestured my gratitude to Prince and the band and was ushered off stage, beaming with utter jubilation. I had performed one of my all-time favorite songs with Prince! Better yet, after I got off stage, Prince joked to Raul (one of the security guys) to give me some money. To my chagrin, 5 minutes later I was rewared with $40, with which I treated my companions to lunch! Thanks for the meal, Prionce. I wasn't sure if I had made a fool of myself on stage, but several people lauded my efforts, and one even was convinced that I had sung professionally before! I suppose all those karaoke contests have paid off! THAT IS SO FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!! It was! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018!
