REDFEATHERS

I am so sorry…

I feel really ashamed of myself…I will only speak for myself but others may or may not feel the same way.

A lot of threads and posts have been pretty cruel, me being guilty also. I would just like to say that I am not a bad person, I do not mean to directly offend. Sometimes posts are written naively, jokingly, truthful, tongue in cheek and out to shock. I am fairly new to the Org but when reading some posts – mine too – they become inflamed and quite nasty. I/we get upset and things do get blown way out of proportion that I/we want to believe anything.

I am glad I found the Org, I have learned a lot more about Prince and associates that I am truly grateful. Before, many years ago I relied on CONTROVERSY which was excellent for me but when that finished I kinda just bought Prince’s music and happened upon news articles through magazines and tabloids. There are some things I would rather not know about that I have learned through the Org, but hell – that’s life!

From an early age I have been overwhelmed by Prince’s genius, hoping and daring I would still like his latest song, album and gladly I do. I feel as strong for his music at 11 as I do now at 31. I like his person although I do not know him. I know he is good, has a great personality and sense of humour and his music has helped me through good times and bad.

I my self – like Prince – am a normal human being, I have dealt with some shit in my life but I have also been very successful and I suppose am much luckier than millions of other unfortunate people in the world. I hardly ever recognize that though. Think how lucky we all are.

I have ‘issues’ myself like many people, but I now believe these are being brought onto the Org and should be kept quite separate. Yes, I may still write some crappy threads and stupid posts but will try and remember to think twice before I start typing. I just get a bit het up and excited.
Remember we are all on the Org because we like, love Prince and/or his music, his choice of friends the path he takes in life is his decision and we should ‘try’ and accept that. How would you all deal with someone telling you what to or what not to believe in. Sounds a bit Taliban to me. (Again, not to offend!)

I was very upset when I heard Prince became a JW, I had someone in my family who was JW and my family and closest could not understand it – I still don’t but there are others who cannot understand Christianity or religion, I am not going to change myself for them, so we shouldn’t expect Prince to change. We are only going to Piss him off big style and then where would we be? What would we do if he stopped his music altogether? Let’s sit back and appreciate the great music he puts out to his fans, fams, whoever.
We are here to support him.

Don’t get me wrong I do love the humorous/crappy/controversial threads, posts and everyone on the Org seem like really great, friendly people but I would also love to hear some future positive threads about the man we log onto the Org to discuss.

Peace.

wink

I'm happy that you have, welcome to the dawn! mr.green Also, big props to u for admitting it out loud, I hope that this might make other people think as well. I for one appreciate this initiative very much. smile

It may bore some people to death, but if they spend the time reading it (I am no journalist or writer so it's not perfect or rivetting reading!) they may just think...I just thought it needed to be said, the thread 'What the hell is Larry on' made me think - AFTER I had posted my crap! I just wrote my post before I read all the other posts and alot of people seemed upset and/or concerned.
Prince could retire early, start a family, or concentrate fully on JW but let us be thankful now that he DOES share his music with us and DOES still tour!!! He still loves us, so why should we be so cruel?

Yes redfeathers, it is very easy to post and then realize the tone and/or inflection isn't right. We all make that mistake sometimes...it sucks.

The org can be forgiving however smile

lol You know that split second immediately after you click "send" on a post that you typed in the heat of the moment? You're like "shit, I shouldn't have done that!"

There should be a word for that instant!

"There should be a word for that instant".

Or, to paraphrase that line from 'Under The Cherry Moon':

" I must have that disease"

" It's called stupid!"
"You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

I haven't been posting/lurking much lately, so not sure exactly which posts you're feeling bad about. BUT-
If you feel what you say, it's honest. No need to apologize. If you mean something as sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek and someone's offended, well, maybe they shouldn't be so sensitive and they should get a sense of humor. If you flat out intend to piss someone off, well, that's just plain mean. (But sometimes that's only in retaliation too.)

In other words, I wouldn't worry about it. Nice thoughts, though.

I know I'm pretty late adding this post,
but I just read it and I have to say,
thank you to Redfeathers.
All of us are here because of our interest in Prince.
That is our common bond.
If we can grow to be real friends in addition to that,
what a groove that would be!

Peace and Love,

Redfeathers, that was truly the most honest and from the heart thread I have ever read. I don't know if you are a man or a women, but that was certainly big of you, my hat's off to you. Mad props, sincerely. Maybe we all (including myself) can take a lesson from your example in honesty.
