This man has worked very hard throughout his career. He deserves to have total control over his past songs. I'm thinking about organizing a protest to warner brothers lol. Anybody want to join me?

Eye would definately b up 4 it. Prince should own his creations. Huge corporate companies should not b allowed 2 use people like that!

Prince got very rich and very famous while he was being "used". He was a music veteran when he re-signed with WB right before all H LL broke loose. So he shoulda known better, imho.

Apparently he's learned his lesson about what contracts he signs and eventually his masters will revert back to him, lesson learned.

In one sense I'd like Prince to have his masters because it would make him happy. But really, what do we expect Prince would do with his masters? There's a good chance he would just sit on them and the albums that are left would also go out of print - because what is behind him never seems that important to him.

At the end of the day, Prince shouldn't have signed contracts if he wasn't happy with the deal. Warners paid him lots of money because they knew through publishing from the masters that they would get that money back long-term. If they handed over the masters now, it would leave them with nothing and that just doesn't make business sense.

prince signed the contracts... and he got paid to make them and Prince billed WB for the studio time. so WB should own them for as long as the law allows
