Renato What do you think of him ? and moreso - his playing ?
I have been listening to alot o fthe new shows and well I like his style, it is pretty different to Morris Hayes' style - which didn't change much in 10 years - but I haven't been able to decide if Renato is better than Mr Hayes. It was cool to see Morris play at Xenophobia .. So does anyone think Renato is more capable, technically than Mr Hayes ? Anyway The question is what do you think of Renato's playing ? | |

Renato is an awesome pianist. I had the good fortune to go to his workshop (with Eric Leeds) during Xenophobia. He is a genuinely nice guy too. Very, very humble. He's played with some amazing people too and had quite a musical career before Prince.
I think he adds something really special to Prince's live performances. You will notice he's playing a lot of the guitar parts now too, as Prince no longer has Mike Scott playing guitar for him. Renato can play the guitar parts on one keyboard with one had whilst playing the keyboard parts on another. If you've ever tried doing that you will know just how hard it is. The guy is a genius.
