The Songs On 3121 OK, when I bought 3121 my favorite since the beginning was THe DANCe and it still is. Lately I've been listening quite a lot to Satisfied and I truly love it now more than back then. Te Amo Corazon and The Word are also those that I didn't really pay attention to and now I do. What do Uall think?

when i first heard the album, i didn't get time to really listening carefully every song and i was not sure about the all album... But now i fell that the real Prince, the one i love is back as good as he was during the 80's

ewwww, The Dance was a grower for me...I like it now.
From the beginning I loved 3121, FURY, LOLITA, LOVE, THE WORD, BLACK SWEAT and INCENSE & CANDLES. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed is also a grower... The rest are just ok for me man (in my Randy Jackson voice) Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

OK...
I'm gonna use "grower" again... don't get 2 excited. Instantly: 3121 - "breakdown... guitar..." Camille Baby. Love - Strong-ass chorus, with old-school beat. Breakdown is truly kickin. "Bounce.... LAWD... ahhhhh...shake that thang, c'mon...." The Dance - I love this style from P. Piano is classic Prince. Maxwell must be creaming over this. Word - Love the vocals. Primal scream at end is mind blowing. Totally different Prince scream there. Satisfied - Good ole Georgia Soul there, and in the best way. 4 those who can't dig the old school slow jams, U won't dig it... cool. I do. Growers: Lolita - "The Cheese" is calling. Te Amo Corazon - Beautiful arrangement. Fury - Had 2 be a grower after SNL performance. Love it. Colder, Dirty Mind-ish. On the Boat - I'm a bonafide Funk Freak, and I didn't dig this at 1st... even with the timbales and mad piano by the Man. Love it now. Doesn't need the higher level I originally wanted 2 hear. Black Sweat - Infectious, and a nasty Linn beat 2 boot. Incense & Candles - Surprisingly, I now like this. Rythym track and arrangement R on point like a mutha. Beautiful, Loved, & Blessed - Despite the rythym programming, the rest of this song is beautiful. Breakdown in the latter half is priceless. I THINK TE AMO IS NOT ONE THAT BELONGS ON THE DISC. IT TAKES AWAY FROM IT BEING AMONG THE OTHER GREAT TRACKS. MY FAV IS LOVE - 3121 - GET ON THE BOAT

I quit listening to 3121 for awhile, but picked it back up again this week. For whatever reason I have been linking "Black Sweat", "Incense and Candles" and "The Dance" together as one chunk of song experience.
I find myself wanting to skip over "Lolita", and "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed". "Love" is a favorite. The people at work know I am listening to that one because I will start "Chappelle show" style robot dancing when they bust out the bounce.

I Definitely started listening to the other albums again and my enthusiasm has waned slightly, still its a great album and I don't see it waning much further. 3121 is still funky and sexy to boot, Lolita is a trifle lightweight now and not quite holding up to repeated listens. Te Amo Corazon has done the opposite, its a truly romantic schmaltzy ballad done so well. Black Sweat has lost a lot of promise as it just so short and does sound rather 93ish. Incense and Candles is sounding great too, its a melodic love song that flows and is full of double entendres. Love is still fantastic, its the dancy pop he does in his sleep. Satisfied is leaving me a touch non plussed, and is only Ok. Same with Fury it sounds disjointed. The Word kicks ass and is probably the hippest religious hit in ages!!!! BLB is a bit too cute, but a nice enough song of hope, however Tamar does sound rather 96ish. The Dance is still superb and a great vocal screech at the end. Get on the Boat still leaves me wanting more, a funky BAND song not unlike 'its gonna be a beautiful night' its a shame he dosent mine this seam a bit more.
Still I give the album 8 out of 10 and its on a par with Controversy and Come 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince
