I think he emptied it last week. It would be great to have something like that but - to be honest - I'm just glad we're getting some extra material. 'B-sides' seems to be such a dirty term these days. And it's a fantastic performance!

[Edited 5/12/06 2:06am] So there's not going to be any B-side? No Love? Not sure but I'd rather have these than 'Love', personally. I love that track and double 'A' singles are all well and good as long as you equally promote both songs. As it is, we don't even know if 'Fury' will get decent promotion. At least this way we get some bonus material. And it's an incentive for fans to buy the single.

I'm under the impression that all of the old vault material is under "Warner-Chappell" publishing...I hardly think any of those songs will see the light of day now. So, be happy with the live b-sides. Occupy Alphabet Street!

That's a good point. I never even thought about that. I'm satisfied with this tracklisting. Plus, if the video is any indication. Fury could sound better on this CD single than on the album and that alone is worthy of me picking it up. I hope I'm right. [Edited 5/14/06 9:05am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Nope that's not the case. Prince's contract with Warner-Chappell expired on 31 December 1999. A few months later he signed a deal with Universal Music to handle his music publishing. All songs that would have previously been "controlled/managed" by Warner-Chappell then transfered to Universal, including anything in the vault. That said, the songs within the vault were never officially delivered by Prince to Warner Bros Records and were therefore never published by Warner-Chappell either! In the same way, until Prince decides to release any of the vault tracks (and by release I mean either on CD/download/film score AND/OR as written sheet music) then Universal doesn't actually publish them either! Basically Prince owns all the vault tracks 100% and it is therefore completely up to him when and if they get released! [Edited 5/14/06 9:54am] 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

MANY vault songs were delivered to Warn-a-Brotha! There were numerous instances when WB refused a song/tracklisting/album (ie: the Dream Factory and Crystal Ball). I was under the impression that the contract with Warner-Chappell that expired refers to future Music Publishing, meaning that any songs written after that date weren't under Warner-Chappell's holdings. In the case of songs delivered to Warner Bros but rejected then I am not sure whether they were ever actually "published". Be interesting to know! In terms of the Warner-Chappell contract expiring 31 Dec 1999 - that was when they ceased to control the publishing of any of the songs. The Prince song catalogue is now published by Universal (all the songs). 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.'
