Their are certain Prince albums that i just can not part with,like the very fisrt Prince album. Everytime i lose or scratch this album i must buy another one. I think i must of bought this record 10 time or more. Which Prince album you rebought the most times?

That's funny because I've been a fan since 1999 (the album), am dowright abusive toward my cds (often leaving them out of their jewel box for weeks to gather dust), and I've never replaced a single Prince album save for replacing 1999 when it came out with all the songs (which doesn't count because the first cd release wasn't the full 1999).

Some of the cds sometimes malfunction, but usually a little dusting and cleaning does the job.

I've bought 1999 on CD 6 times.

I keep moving or losing my cds. Now I only have about three Prince cds, but it doesn't seem to bother me much..lol

1999 cassette -- it broke
1999 vinyl -- scratches
1999 CD -- finally when i got the money (they were $18 back then!)

I hear you... Im am hopeless with CDs. I leave them lying around all over the place. I have piles of CDs, towers of the things all out of their jewel cases and gathering dust. The ones at the bottom are taking the brunt of the abuse. Having said that, 1999 is the only CD that doesnt play anymore - scratched to fuck. So will need to purchase that again. Oh, and Come broke in half somehow...

Only twice for these albums

1. For You vinyl and tape
2. Prince ditto
3. 1999 Cd and Tape somehow lost both,must get again
4. Lovesexy Tape and Cd both lost
5. Diamonds and Pearls, tape, updated with CD with original holographic cover
6. TGE Tape, replaced with a CD

So I only rebuy albums when I upgrade a format. I try to take care of all my Prince music, to me they are like holy books, items to be cherished and venerated. My Prince CdS ALL HAVE HOMES.

Well, it depends on whether you mean "rebought the most because they wore out" or "rebought the most as part of a collection".

The album I have replaced the most due to wearing out, is Lovesexy. three times.

I feel you but, the black album is one hard album too fine in my area.

Purple Rain. I think I've brought it like 6 or 7 times.

I've purchased everything at least twice becuase i have to have vinyl.
I's say Purple Rain or SOTT. I made some nice artwork of of PR plus I used to mix them both on turntables.....opps make that Rave. 5 copies.

Probably "Dirty Mind". I still have my original vinyl album in perfect condition and still play it today.

In the late 1980s, I didn't have a turntable so I bought the "Dirty Mind" and "Controversy" 2 on 1 tape. Later that decade, I had a double cassette boombox that played both cassettes at the same time. During that time, I bought both cassettes separately so I could mix them.

When I finally got a CD player in 1994, then I bought the CD.

I have two turntables now so, once again, I pull out the original vinyl (it sounds better than the CD).

1st copy was a bootleg tape I bought from a street vendor.
2nd copy was a bootleg vinyl I bought from a local record store.
3rd copy was a bootleg double cd I bought while vacationing in Toronto.
4th copy was the official cd.
5th copy was the official cd again after my wife lost the other copy.
